A Hole in My Heart (2004)

The Swedish experimental drama A Hole in My Heart (2004) centers on Eric (Björn Almroth), a teenager dwelling in a rundown apartment with his father, Rickard (Thorsten Flinck). Like most normal teens, Eric spends a good part of his day locked in his room, blaring his annoying music to drown out the immediate world outside of his door. It seems as though Eric is a bit upset about his father’s interest in filming extreme sex videos in the family’s living room. Dad doesn’t care about Eric’s aversion to his hijacking the living quarters, because he continues to pump out the disturbing videos. His latest project involves his emotionally disturbed friend Geko (Goran Marjanovic) and an equally-as-weird young woman named Tess (Sanna Bråding). As the film shoot carries on over several days, Rickard and his messed up muses lose track of the outside world and their sanity, pushing themselves further and further into a violent scenario that forces Eric to intervene.

As one can imagine, this controversial film is highlighted by nudity and sexuality, and both Thorsten Flinck and Goran Marjanovic step up to show off every inch of their bodies in casual scenes of oddness. A Hole in My Heart will have your hand down your pants!
