Review

Based on the Erich Maria Remarque of the same name, All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) follows Paul Bäumer (Lew Ayres), along with a group of his classmates that are goaded by their teacher (Arnold Lucy) to enlist in the German Army during World War I. When the enthusiastic and patriotic buddies are sent to the titular location, they quickly become disillusioned by the horrors of war, slowly losing their passion and innocence. The Oscar winning flick set the gold standard for all war movies to follow. More importantly, the classic film is one of the first to bring male nudity to the big screen. Lew Ayres, Slim Summerville, and William Bakewell go for a skinny dip, giving an extremely brief look at their butts. The Western Front may be quiet, but there will be some naughty noise in the front of your underpants!
