Catch-22 (1970)

Adapted from the classic Joseph Heller novel of the same name, Catch-22 (1970) stars Alan Arkin as Captain John Yossarian, a U.S. Army Air Force bombardier stationed in the Mediterranean during World War II. After watching many of his fellow squadron members get killed, John gets cold feet and he attempts to get out of his bomb dropping duty. After his pleas fall on the deaf ears of his superior commander, Colonel Cathcart (Martin Balsam), who continues to amp up John’s bombing runs, the scared pilot fakes a mental breakdown to receive a medical discharge. The insanity defense doesn’t work for the hopeless hero and he becomes surrounded by his goofy military comrades. When John survives a knife attack from an unknown assailant, he sets out to sea in a raft with the hopes of reaching Sweden and removing himself from all the madness. Between dropping bombs, Alan Arkin drops his pants and makes roll call more fun by flashing his moons. Alan’s bottom is sure to make you explode!
