Biography

It’s safe to say that most movie-goers know Crispin Glover for his breakout role as the lovable George McFly in the classic flick Back to the Future (1985). Old school viewers may even recall Crispin’s bizarre 1987 appearance on Late Night with David Letterman, where he busted out some karate moves that had the gap-tooth host running for safety. But Mr. Man remembers Crispin for furnishing his bare chest and drawers in the bawdy comedy My Tutor (1983). With that lean physique, Crispin can tutor us anytime! The lanky babe gained fame with roles in critically-acclaimed films, such as River’s Edge (1986) and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), as well as popular popcorn movies from Charlie’s Angels (2000) to Hot Tub Time Machine (2010). During the 1990s, Crispin worked with several of cinema’s biggest directors: Miloš Forman (The People vs. Larry Flynt), Gus van Sant (Even Cowgirls Get the Blues), David Lynch (Wild at Heart), and Jim Jarmusch (Dead Man). Some of his most memorable roles include playing Andy Warhol in The Doors (1991), Rodion Raskolnikov in Crime and Punishment (2002), Willard Stiles in Willard (2003), Grendel in Beowulf (2007), and The Knave of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland (2010). Through the years, Glover has performed on film (Twister, Nurse Betty) and TV (American Gods). He’s also worked as a director (What Is It?), singer (“Ben”), and author (Rat Catching). Mr. Glover was named after the Saint Crispin’s Day speech from William Shakespeare’s Henry V, but we prefer to call him hot!
