Behind every great woman is…probably Dallas Roberts. Often cast opposite strong female characters, Dallas nonetheless manages to more than hold his own. He played Pam Grier’s love interest Angus Partridge on The L Word from 2006-2009, Julianna Margulies’ brother Owen Cavanaugh on The Good Wife from 2010-2016, Felicity Huffman’s husband in American Crime in 2017, and Alyssa Milano’s husband in Insatiable from 2018-2019. It’s in this last role where he also gets to play alongside a guy, too. Throughout the series, his character is in love with both his wife Coralee (played by Alyssa), and his neighbor Bob Barnard (played by Christopher Gorham), and engages in twosomes and a threesome. Bare-chested and a little bumbling, he’s still pretty to look at. Dallas (and yes, he does hail from the great state of Texas, Houston to be exact) went to Juilliard and mostly makes his home in New York City, where his wife is a professor at NYU. Besides the TV shows noted above, you can also find him on the little screen as Miles in Rubicon in 2010, Milton in The Walking Dead from 2012-2013, in the role of Eliot in Unforgettable from 2013-2015, playing Jackson Berg in American Rust in 2021, and as Richard Ford in Big Sky in 2022. On the big screen, his talent can be admired as Sam Phillips in Walk the Line (2005) with Reese Witherspoon, Grayson Butterfield in 3:10 to Yuma (2007) with Christian Bale, Henrick in The Grey (2011) with Liam Neeson, David Wayne in Dallas Buyers Club (2013) with Matthew McConaughey, and Danny Fanti in Edward Norton’s Motherless Brooklyn (2019).
