Deliverance (1972)

Oscar nominated thriller Deliverance (1972) is so packed with memorable moments that it’s become a part of the cultural zeitgeist, despite involving some intense subject matter of the squealing variety. Some of the most recognized actors of the 1970’s, Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty, and Ronny Cox, play a group of friends who seek reprieve from the city with a rural canoeing getaway. Strange things happen in the middle of Georgia, and soon the foursome become a little too familiar with the regional culture when they’re ambushed by some rascally locals.
