Divergent (2014)

Based on Veronica Roth's 2011 YA novel, Divergent (2014) is set in a futuristic version of Chicago where five separate factions combine to run the country. Derisively called "stiffs," Abnegation are the ones who govern since they're known to value fairness above all else, Dauntless are the badass soldier squad known for their fearlessness, Candor are all about refusing to lie so they run the law, Amity are the kind farmers who live life close to nature, and erudite are the smart people in charge of education and science. Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) grew up an Abnegation stiff, but when she takes the big test to find out where she'd best fit into society, she realizes she's a "divergent" who would equally fit in anywhere. Since that's the worst thing you could be in a world that fears anyone who thinks for themselves, her test proctor (Maggie Q) lies and says she tested Abnegation. But when it's time to pick a faction Tris opts for Dauntless and gets thrown headfirst into all sorts of courage tests and fist fights by their head instructor Tobias (Theo James). Jeanine (Kate Winslet), the leader of the Erudite faction, is out to control everything, so she invents a serum that works on the Dauntless to get them to attack the other factions. But since it doesn't work on Divergents, both Tris and the secretly Divergent Theo are unaffected. Now, it's up to them to put a stop to her plans! Don't expect them to stop her at the end of this one, though, since there are two sequels and a never finished fourth film. Tons of young actors from this movie absolutely blew up including Miles Teller, Zoe Kravitz and Ansel Elgort, but none have had the hotness career of the often-naked Theo James. Sure, his work in stuff like The White Lotus and The Time Traveler's Wife might have more skin scenes, but all the teen boys and girls were dreaming of letting him take their divirginity after seeing him shirtless in this flick. Theo takes his shirt off, and we see both his back covered in tattoos and his amazing, battle-hardened abs. Abnegation or not, that'll have you stiff! We'd join whatever faction gives us a chance at some Theo James action after watching Divergent!
