Foxcatcher (2014)

Who wouldn’t want to catch the fit foxes in Foxcatcher (2014)? Based on actual events, this R rated flick stars Channing Tatum as Mark Schultz, an Olympic gold medal winning wrestler who tires of living under the shadow of his older, highly celebrated wrestling brother David (Mark Ruffalo). When Mark is contacted by wrestling-obsessed philanthropist John Eleuthère du Pont (Steve Carell) with an offer to train at his estate for the 1988 Seoul Olympics, he jumps at the chance to join wrestling Team Foxcatcher. He even invites David to tag along. Initially, everything seems to be going well, yet it’s only a matter of time before John’s generosity reveals itself to be something more sinister. Suffice it to say, du Pont begins to hinder Mark’s growth as a grappler by introducing him to cocaine. If that’s not bad enough, he puts Schultz on a grueling training regiment that actually leads to a path of destruction. Thankfully this journey also leads us to Tatum’s tush. When Mark tries to make his wrestling weight, Channing shows off his bare back and cheeky buns. No wonder, Tatum and his cast mates (including Carell, Ruffalo, Sienna Miller, and Vanessa Redgrave) were named Best Ensemble at the Hollywood Film Awards and the Gotham Independent Film Awards. Better yet, Academy Award nominations were bestowed on Mr. Carrell, Mr. Ruffalo, and the film’s director Bennett Miller. Despite the critical acclaim, this sporty drama was a box office flop. Nevertheless, it’ll inspire you to wrestle the member in your pants!
