After conquering Australian TV (Neighbours, Snowy River: The McGregor Saga), Guy Pearce put the wood into Hollywood with his pulsating presence. Granted, he already piqued our interest (among other things) by baring his buns in the biopic Flynn (1993) and in the drag hit The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994). Once in the States, Pearce really made it when he was cast alongside Russell Crowe in Curtis Hanson’s crime flick L.A. Confidential (1997). Next came Christopher Nolan’s neo-noir mystery Memento (2000) showcasing Guy’s tattooed torso and nude booty! The topless talent then thrilled fans in the thriller Till Human Voices Wake Us (2002) when he swam in wet (and see-through) skivvies. Quick, grab a towel! Shirtless turns in The Time Machine (2002), Fragments (2008), In Her Skin (2009), Results (2015), Brimstone (2017) and Jack Irish (2016-2021) followed. In between, Guy portrayed real-life icons Andy Warhol in Factory Girl (2006), Harry Houdini in Death Defying Acts (2008), King Edward VIII in The King’s Speech (2010), F. Scott Fitzgerald in Genius (2016), and Han van Meegeren in The Last Vermeer (2019). Never one to rest on his laurels, Guy tackled American TV when he touted his naked chest and same-sex preferences on the ABC drama When We Rise (2017). He and his abs also appeared opposite Kate Winslet on HBO’s Mare of Easttown (2021) and Mildred Pierce (2011). As menacing Monte, Pearce flashes his back and bum while piercing Ms. Pierce.
