“Day O!” Harry Belafonte is a Jamaican-American hero. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, the beauty with a booty began his career as a Trinbagonian Caribbean singer in the mid-20th century. He parlayed his fame as the King of Calypso into humanitarian efforts, even joining with Martin Luther King Jr. to advocate equality during the Civil Rights Movement. Belafonte’s list of achievements includes becoming a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and being awarded the National Medal of Arts. The only thing that can compete with Harry’s heart is his talent. As an actor, he starred opposite Dorothy Dandridge in the classic musicals Carmen Jones (1954) and Porgy and Bess (1959) directed by Otto Preminger. Through the years, Harry revealed his range in the drama Island in the Sun (1957); the film noir Odds Against Tomorrow (1959); the sci-fi flick The World, the Flesh and the Devil (1959); the Robert Altman dramedies The Player (1992) and Ready to Wear (1994); and the biopic BlacKkKlansman (2018). In between, Harry could be seen acting alongside Sidney Poitier in the action comedy Uptown Saturday Night (1974) and the western Buck And The Preacher (1972). Belafonte doesn’t play Buck in the latter which is ironic since he’s buck naked in the movie! Although we can see his glistening abs and ass, his package is covered by a 10-gallon hat! With more than 30 albums, multiple Grammy awards and an Emmy, it’s surprising Harry had time to sleep — and who wouldn’t want to bed Belafonte!
