Hotel (2001)

Hotel (2001) is like a movie version of an improvisational jazz soundtrack, which is not surprising as it’s directed by Mike Figgis, a musician himself who scores all his own films. This experimental flick about a film crew at a Venice hotel working on a Dogma adaptation of The Duchess of Malfi is even more convoluted than that description. Add David Schwimmer as the producer and the mind reels. But this head scratcher is also a crotch scratcher thanks to some bizarre sex scenes. What a treat from Rhys Ifans! We get a great shot of Rhys’ surprise between his thighs!
