The truth shall set you free—only if you have a good lawyer. Based on a true story, In the Name of the Father (1993) stars Daniel Day-Lewis as Gerry Conlon, a petty thief from Belfast who moves to England to live with an old school friend, Paul (John Lynch). When the IRA bomb a London pub the two lads are hauled in for questioning, which leads to beatings by the police. In an attempt to stop the abuse, Gerry and Paul falsely confess to the terrorist act. To add insult to injury, the ruthless authorities imprision Gerry’s friends and father (Pete Postlethwaite). The incarcerated youth spends the next fifteen years fighting for justice. With the help of British attorney Gareth Pierce (Emma Thompson), Gerry and his buddies finally get their well-deserved freedom. Since the majority of the film occurs in prison, there’s bound to be some inmate flesh. When Daniel first enters prison, he is stripped, hosed and powdered before being thrown into the regular population. Irish eyes are smiling when Daniel’s duff is given some quality time on screen. Mr. Man is green with horny!
