Biography

Painfully gorgeous James Van Der Beek burst into the hearts and pants of America in 1998 when he debuted as Dawson Leery, the titular high school hunk in the WB’s hit teen drama Dawson's Creek. In 1999, James burst onto the big screen when he starred in the high school football film Varsity Blues, winning an MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Male Performance. More importantly, James was named one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in the World. Talk about a Van Der Peak! Just before Dawson’s Creek ended in 2003, James played a bisexual coke-snorting sociopathic sex maniac in the 2002 flick The Rules of Attraction. As a rule, that’s attractive. After a few theatrical flops, James returned to the small screen for guest appearances on Robot ChickenCriminal Minds,Ugly BettyOne Tree Hill, and How I Met Your Mother. In 2010, James had a recurring role as a womanizing doctor in the medical drama Mercy. The following year, he joined pop sensation Kesha in the 2011 music video for her hit single "Blow." Well, if you’re asking, James... Over the next several years, James let us glimpse his shirtless bod in the shows Franklin & Bash, Friends with Better Lives, and What Would Diplo Do? Talk about a Van Der Peek! Sadly, the last several years have been Van Der Peakless and Peekless, but you can check out his still-fresh face in middling media like Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (2019) and Home Movie: The Princess Bride (2020).
