Jesse Plemons is like a strawberry-blonde teddy bear—all cuddly and soft and sweet. You want to squeeze his cheeks (both sets), and then drink hot chocolate with him. Although he’s been known to slim down for various roles, he usually shows off his lily-white complexion when he’s a bit more on the chubby side, and usually while wearing boxer briefs or tightie-whities. You can see him in both types of underwear in the TV shows Black Mirror and Fargo, respectively. Acting since the age of ten, he made his on-screen debut as Hobo in the movie Finding North (1998). When he was 18, he landed a starring role in the fan-favorite primetime series Friday Night Lights, providing comic relief as the character Landry Clarke, and using his Texas-born knowledge in the football-centric show. From there he landed a minor but memorable role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master (2012) and a significant role late in the run of the groundbreaking AMC drama series Breaking Bad, playing Todd. His turn as Ed Blumquist in the second season of FX’s anthology drama Fargo not only got him a Primetime Emmy nomination, but a baby mama and paramour with co-star Kirsten Dunst. Nabbing bigger and bigger roles, he played Chuckie O’Brien in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman (2019) and Tom White in the director’s Killers of the Flower Moon (2022). He also took on the role of George Burbank in Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog (2021), for which he was nominated for an Oscar. Dogs and bears, oh my!
