Biography

Arguably one of the best running backs America has ever seen, Jim Brown is many things: a three-time AP NFL Most Valuable Player, a lacrosse Hall-of-Famer, an actor, and a total hunk! The Georgian athlete began dominating sports in high school, quickly moving on to become a nationally-recognized college star. Although the legendary player is best known for his reign on the Cleveland Browns from 1957 through 1965, he made his mark on Hollywood too. After debuting in Rio Conchos (1964), Jim joined Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, and more to shoot the war classic The Dirty Dozen (1967). The MGM adventure flicks Dark of the Sun with Rod Taylor and Ice Station Zebra with Rock Hudson followed in 1968. Also that year, Brown landed the lead opposite Diahann Carroll in the neo-noir movie The Split. Like Riot (1969), it was a box office hit! Next came the 20th Century Fox flick 100 Rifles (1969) featuring Burt Reynolds, Raquel Welch, and Jim’s ebony chest! The film also boasts one of the first interracial love scenes (between Brown and Welch) which the actress talks about in the documentary Jim Brown: All-American (2002). Through the years, Brown appeared in Spike Lee’s She Hate Me (2004) and He Got Game (1998); Tim Burton’s sci-fi romp Mars Attacks! (1996); and the Keenen Ivory Wayans spoof I’m Gonna Git You Sucka (1988). During the 1970s, Jim starred in Blaxploitation pics, including Black Gunn (1972), The Slams (1973), and Slaughter (1972) which showcases the sporty stud’s amazing abs. Score!
