Last Light (1993)

Sometimes friendships can spring up in the oddest of places. In the prison drama Last Light (1993), Kiefer Sutherland stars as Denver Bayliss, a death row prisoner awaiting execution for murder. When Denver encounters Fred Whitmore (Forest Whitaker), an ex-cop turned security guard, the unlikely pair begin to develop a bond. As Fred’s supervisor (Clancy Brown) continues to mistreat his prison pal, the gregarious guard begins to fight for more humane treatment for the murderer. With Fred’s life a mess, and Denver’s life about to end, the two unknowingly begin to help each other cope with their impending problems.
