Born in Ohio and of Irish and Spanish heritage, while young people might know him as the dad of Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen, the macho Martin Sheen started acting in the mid-1960s and has worked steadily ever since. MacInerney in The American President (1995), in 1999 Martin landed the role that would make him a small screen legend: Democratic President Josiah Bartlet on The West Wing.
