Perfect Sense (2011)

A chef and a scientist come together just before everything falls apart in Perfect Sense (2010). Susan (Eva Green) is a medical researcher who meets and falls in love with Michael (Ewan McGregor), her neighbor and a 5-star chef. The womanizing Michael has finally met his match in hyper-intelligent Susan, but the honeymoon phase is cut short by the sudden appearance of a disease that causes victims to lose their senses one by one, starting with smell. First, you start crying and lose your sense of smell. Then, you get really hungry and lose your sense of taste. Then, you get angry and lose the ability to hear, and finally you get euphoric but go blind. Since she's a scientist, it's her job to try and figure out what's going on and see if she can stop it. Since he's a chef, he has to deal with losing tons of customers who aren't that interested in gourmet food once they can't taste anything. Of course, just as their love is really blossoming, they'll be afflicted with the disease and struggle to deal with the range of emotions the disease leads to them going through. More of a melancholic romance than the nightmarish vision of a possible future that the similarly plotted flick Blindness (2008) is, there is a solid amount of skin in this one.
