Raw Nerve (1999)

A crooked cop in a desperate race to clean his dirty tracks, and a craven coward who is forced into compromising circumstances that demand he perform with superhuman bravery, are each in themselves the stuff of high-impact suspense. Raw Nerve (1999) combines both elements, with Mario Van Peebles starring as a cop under investigation for laundering cash, who calls in a favor from long time pal Ethan Lang (Zach Galligan), an ex-cop scaredy-cat that is now a college professor. Throw in South American drug lords with a penchant for throat-slitting vengeance, toss in a few shots of Mr. Peebles pert posterior, and garnish the whole thing with a side of inoperable cancer that renders him impervious to considerations of health or well-being, and you have the recipe for a bang-up entertainment.
