Red Corner (1997)

A hot American lawyer finds himself caught between a rock and a hard place in communist China in Red Corner (1997), Jon Avnet’s politically savvy thriller. Jack Moore (Richard Gere) heads to the Far East on business and ends up staying longer than he would have liked. On a quest to import American entertainment to the starving masses in China, Moore carves out time for a quickie with a sexy model (Jessey Meng) before being charged with carving her into a cadaver. Before long, Moore’s caught in the crosshairs of a violent tussle for political power.
