The Scottish legend of Robert Roy MacGregor, based on the adventurous novel by Sir Walter Scott, gets the Hollywood treatment in Rob Roy (1995), starring Liam Neeson stars as the titular character. In the fields of eighteenth-century Scotland, Roy makes ends meet by cattle driving. To secure a future for himself and his small town, the Robin Hood of Scotland enters into an ill-advised trade agreement with the Marquis of Montrose (John Hurt). When word gets out that Roy has some cash, Cunningham (Tim Roth), one of the Marquis’ many henchmen, makes a grab for the cash. Broke and unable to pay back his debt and unwilling to surrender his house and land, Roy flees, becoming a fugitive hunted by the Marquis’ menacing men. As tragedy hits the Roy family, the heroic farmer becomes locked in a political and physical battle to save his life and legacy. Between all the drama, Liam unleashes his throbbing goods while bathing in the ocean. Liam will have you Scotland hard!
