English performer Sam Riley (not to be confused with Australian swimmer Samantha Riley) is making waves (in a good way) in the entertainment industry. Thanks to his breakout role as Ian Curtis (the frontman from the post-punk band Joy Division) in Control (2007), Sam was named Best Actor at the Chicago International Film Festival; won the British Independent Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer; and was nominated for BAFTA’s Rising Star prize. Mr. Riley certainly made Mr. Man rise! Since then, the Leeds lad landed the male leads in the crime thrillers 13 (2011) and Brighton Rock (2010) as well as in the chiller diller Byzantium (2012) alongside Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan. Sam can also be seen in the costume movies On the Road (2012) with Garrett Hedlund; Maleficent (2014) with Angelina Jolie; Suite Française (2015) with Matthias Schoenaerts; and in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016) opposite Lily James. Luckily, he doffed his duds for Radioactive (2020). The Marie Curie biopic features Rosamund Pike, Aneurin Barnard, Simon Russell Beale, and Sam’s naked T&A! If that’s not hot enough, the skintastic stud steamed up the small screen in the BBC One drama SS-GB (2017). When Riley flashes his flesh while having sex, this mini-series will make fans maxi-aroused! From singing with 10,000 Things and modeling for Burberry to acting on film (Free Fire, Sometimes Always Never) and on TV (Lenny Blue, Sound, Tinkershrimp & Dutch), Sam seems to live the life of Riley. And we’d love to see more of him!
