Sex, Shame & Tears (1999)

One out of three ain’t bad in the romantic comedy Sex, Shame & Tears (1999). After enjoying a seven-year trip around the world, Tomás (Demián Bichir) returns to Mexico to hang out with his friends, Carlos (Victor Huggo Martin) and Ana (Susana Zabaleta), a couple going through a jag in their relationship. When Carlos catches Tomás and Ana in the throes of passion, the angry boyfriend sends Tomás packing. Things get quite messy when Ana leaves instead and moves in with her friends, Miguel and Andrea (Jorge Salinas and Cecilia Suárez), another couple going through relationship problems. When Miguel is caught cheating he is given his walking papers to move in with Tomás and Carlos, ultimately starting some battle of the sexes bullshit that’s evened out when María (Mónica Dionne), a mutual friend, moves in with the gals. You’d think everyone would’ve learned their lesson by now, but Tomás gets caught cheating again, this time with Andrea. The shame and the tears in the title come into play when Tomás acknowledges the emptiness of life and commits suicide by jumping down an elevator shaft.

Martin and Salinas both get shirtless and strip down to their undies, but Bichir one-ups the dudes by showing butt and peen in comically sexy scenes. There’s no shame in staring at these guys in the buff!
