Spun (2002)

Speed kills, but it also makes for a manic movie of frenzied highs and fast-approach, screeching lows. Spun (2002) follows a methamphetamine dabble (played as a baffled but quick post-adolescent by Jason Schwartzman) while he blasts off into the twenty-four hour party world of crank dealers, crank cookers and crank hookers. Pressed into service as an on-call delivery boy, Schwartzman falls under the seductive, speedy appeal of an underground chemist’s Las Vegas Stripper girlfriend (the volatile, irresistible Brittany Murphy), becoming so rapt that he forgets he has a skinny, blonde trollop of his own tied up to the bed at home. Don’t expect things to suddenly start getting better, although that’s exactly what Schwartzman does expect. The male nudity of Spun will stun you. Besides a shirtless—and hairy—Schwartzman, we get numerous looks at John Leguizamo’s meth meat seat as he prances around the film with his Columbian crank in a sock. The guys of Spun and their fleshy fun will have you coming undone.
