Sunshine State (2002)

When land developers attempt to snatch up some property in a small community off the coast of Florida, the locals are none too happy. Following the lives of an African-American athlete, a sixth-generation hotel owner, and a young newly wed actress, Sunshine State (2002) is a moving tale about the bonds of a community that need a miracle to happen for them to save the homes and businesses they love. Staring a rich ensemble cast including Alan King, Edie Falco, Ralph Waite, Jane Alexander, Richard Edson, and Angela Bassett, there is not much nudity to speak of here, though Marc Blucas looks pretty sexy wrapped in nothing but a towel as Edie gets dressed. We know this flick is titled Sunshine State, but come on! We want to see where the sun doesn’t shine!
