Take one part down on his luck London car dealer Terry (Jason Statham), one part former model with a heart full of lust and bad intentions (Saffron Burrows), and one part bank heist, then add a royal, a pornographer (Daniel Mays) and lots of secrets and lies and you’ve got the recipe for The Bank Job (2008). Based on one of the most famous crimes ever committed in Great Britian: the 1971 Lloyds Bank safety deposit box heist, Peter de Jersey is black militant leader Michael X (Peter de Jersey). As insurance to make sure the government never tries to lock him up, he's got a safety deposit box full of nudey pics of Princess Margaret stashed in Lloyds Bank that he'll break out if they try to put him in jail. Sexy model Martine (Saffron Burrows) gets caught smuggling drugs but tells MI5 that she can get that box if it means keeping herself out of prison. To make that happen, she reaches out to her crook buddy Terry (Jason Statham) for help but leads him to believe it's a normal bank heist. They assemble a crew, do some tunneling, steal tons of safety deposit boxes, but soon enough realize just how many bigwigs were using that vault to hide their darkest secrets. Terry and the boys have gotten deep over their heads, and soon enough heads are going to roll. How much of the movie is true? It depends on who you ask. But what's definitely true is that Mr. Man wanted more nudity than he got. Despite being set on the fringes of London’s sex industry, there isn’t a lot of man meat to be seen. The obligatory boob shots of strippers are available and there are some dark scenes that hint at sex, but there isn’t a slim Jim or meat hammer to be found. Your best butt, err bet, is to check out the deleted scenes on the DVD. Statham has a long love scene with Saffron Burrows. He strips down, but due to that pesky foe of nudity dim lighting, it’s hard to get a gander at anything but some side glutes while he's all up in her deposit box. It's not much, but it's a quick look at that shredded Brit to add to your spank bank thanks to The Bank Job.
