The Big Hit (1998)

Melvin Smiley (Mark Wahlberg) is a buff young hitman with bad social anxiety in The Big Hit (1998). Melvin kills people for his boss Paris (Avery Brooks) but is pretty much a pushover in every other aspect of his life, including his relationships with girlfriends Pam (Christina Applegate) and Chantel (Lela Rochon). His gang of killer coworkers with names that sound like they belong on American Gladiators: Cisco (Lou Diamond Phillips), Crunch (Bokeem Woodbine), Vince (Antonio Sabato Jr.) and Gump (Robin Dunne) decide to do some freelance felonies by kidnapping ultra-rich film producer Jiro Nishi's (Sab Shimono) teen daughter Keiko (China Chow) and holding her for ransom. The problem is, these morons didn't realize Jiro has gone broke due to his last movie bombing, and Keiko is Paris' beloved god daughter. Whoops. Melvin gets recruited to help them and goes along with it since he's sort of a doormat. Melvin and Keiko start falling in love, but when Paris sends all his best assassins to take out his daughter's captors Mr. Smiley doesn't have much to smile about. What do you get when you put Mark Wahlberg, Lou Diamond Phillips, Bokeem Woodbine and Antonio Sabato Jr. together? A four pack of prime men showing off their buff physiques, that’s what. From an early scene of a shirtless Wahlberg working out his former undies model muscles, to a shower scene featuring the tushy trifecta of Phillips, Woodbine and Wahlberg (with a slight hint of Woodbine’s wood), these guys look great and keep you laughing from start to finish. Toss in Sabato Jr. buffing his butt to a smooth finish and you’ve got a big hit indeed. Oh yes, you see all those fine pieces of ass in The Big Hit? Mr. Man would hit it!
