Sometimes, it's the battle between critic and auteur that fascinates film fans more than an actual movie, as was the case with Vincent Gallo, Roger Ebert, and the artsy road film, The Brown Bunny (2003). In the film, writer/director Vincent Gallo stars as Bud Clay, a motorcycle racer haunted by the memories of his former lover, who drives his van from New Hampshire to California in search of his lost love, Daisy (Chloë Sevigny). During the journey, Bud crosses paths with various women—Violet, Lilly and Rose (Anna Vareschi, Cheryl Tiggs and Elizabeth Blake)—none of which can replace his desire for Daisy. In between his multiple pit stops, the motorcycle man stops at his parent’s house and sees a brown bunny that his love left behind. When Bud finally makes it to Los Angeles, he meets up with Daisy in a hotel, bringing the film to an explosive end. Sound like a good movie? Well, Roger Ebert loathed it, and went so far as to say that it was the worst movie ever filmed at Cannes and that he was more entertained watching his own colonoscopy. That pissed Gallo off so much that he said he hoped Ebert got colon cancer and called him a "fat pig with the physique of a slave trader." Weirdly, after some editing Ebert actually gave the new and improved version of the movie a thumbs up. Mr. Man approved of both versions, since both have the scene where Gallo goes big in The Brown Bunny, showing his thick throttle as Chloë goes down on his huge hog. Yes, before the Ebert drama, the controversy behind the movie was all about a scene where Miss Sevigny does some very real sucking on Vincent's veiny cock. The movie might not be great, but that rock hard man meat sure is! Phenomenal job on the blowey, Chloë! The Brown Bunny will have you wanting to do it like rabbits!
