The Guest (2014)

The psychological thriller The Guest (2014) stars Dan Stevens as David, a former soldier that shows up on the doorstep of the Spencer and Laura Peterson (Leland Orser and Sheila Kelley), claiming to be a friend of their son Caleb (Chris Harding), who recently died during a battle in Afghanistan. It seems as though David made a promise to Caleb on the battlefield to help take care of his family if he doesn’t make it back alive. Being a man of his word, David moves in with the grieving family and starts to help them out. He helps Luke (Brendan Meyer), the Peterson’s son, deal with a black-eye giving bully, and he also steps in to help their daughter Anna (Maika Monroe) and her friend Kristen (Tabatha Shaun) deal with some douche. While everyone is lulled to sleep by David’s soft-spoken charm, Anna is suspicious of him, especially when a series of accidental deaths start taking place. As the body count continues to rise, Anna must fight to expose the titular figure’s homicidal behaviors. Along the way, Dan Stevens exposes his bare torso as he exits the bathroom after a shower. This guest could never overstay his welcome!
