The Harrad Experiment (1973)

Advertised as “The sex manifesto for the free love generation,” The Harrad Experiment (1973) follows Stanley Cole (Don Johnson) and a handful of horny college students as they become sexual guinea pigs who get credit for shacking up together in a coed paradise. Hey, were can Mr. Man sign up for these special mating classes? Led by Professor Philip Tenhausen (James Whitmore) and his wife Margaret (Tippi Hedren), the initial experiment has the promiscuous pupils paired off for the first 30 days, but they are free to change partners once a month if they want. Stanley gets coupled up with Shelia Grove (Laurie Walters), while Beth Hillyer (Victoria Thompson) is matched with the awkward Harry Schacht (Bruno Kirby). Things don’t go well for either couple, leading to a bunch of confrontations and soul searching that eventually turns up cock and balls from the aptly-named Johnson! Speaking of names, this flick is based on a novel by Robert Rimmer! The movie will make a splash in your pants when Don bares his butt in the pool at the 46-minute mark. Yet Bruno steals the scene since he goes full frontal in the water. The same can be said of skintastic actors Elliott Street and Gregory Harrison. The romantic dramedy also includes an uncredited Melanie Griffith, as well as Robert Middleton, Billy Sands, and the abs on Michael Greene as a topless Yoga instructor. Down, dirty dog!
