The Late Bloomer (2016)

Based on the real life of journalist Ken Baker, The Late Bloomer (2016) is a romantic comedy about a sex therapist named Dr. Peter Newmans (Johnny Simmons) who doesn't go through puberty (or get a boner) until his late 20s. Peter is convinced he's just a harder worker than everyone else and writes inspirational books about how easy it is to make the big bucks by ignoring all that tail chasing that derails most dudes. He even rejects the advances of his hot neighbor Michelle (Brittany Snow) rather easily. But one day after he hits his head playing basketball, doctors notice how small his nuts are and realize that a tumor on his pituitary gland has been inhibiting his male sex hormones since childhood. Removing it in the name of his health, suddenly Peter goes through puberty well into his twenties. Suddenly super horny, Peter can't stop chasing casual sex, breaking out in acne, and acting like a moody teenager. Hijinks ensue as Peter deals with his overwhelming desire to shoot man goo! Of course, in the end he'll end up with Michelle, but not before he's made up for a lifetime of celibacy by trying all sorts of kitty! Off come the bloomers! For a movie about sex, there is surprisingly little nudity! We do get a great shirtless look at Johnny when he's playing bball, looking all skinny and smooth! Mr. Man always roots for skins! Then, we get to watch as everyone cheers on his first boner! His buddy Beck Bennett also spends some time sans shirt while he's waiting for a lucky someone. You know what they say: Better late than never! The Late Bloomer will have you feeling like a horny teen again!
