The Red Tent (2014)

Moviegoers and home audiences love to see red (with passion) when it comes to Warren Beatty’s Reds (1981), Red Sonja (1985), Redline (1997), Red Eye (2005), Red Sparrow (2018), Red Shoe Diaries (1992-1999), and Red Rocket (2020). Of course, we can’t forget The Red Tent (2014), not to be confused with The Red Tent (1969) starring Sean Connery and Peter Finch. Even though this miniseries aired on the Lifetime channel, it still flashes flesh! Based on Anita Diamant’s bestselling novel of the same name, the saga deals with the Book of Genesis as it follows the life of Dinah (Rebecca Ferguson). As such, we get to see the only daughter of Leah (Minnie Driver) and Jacob (Iain Glen) grow to womanhood. When she gets her period, Dinah discovers the red tent — a place where Bilhah (Vinette Robinson), Rachel (Morena Baccarin), and Zilpah (Agni Scott) go during their menstruation cycles. Not only are these ladies part of Dinah’s tribe, they’re also married to her dad! Who says Jewish mythology isn’t kinky? In fact, the series begins with a bang as it showcases the awesome abs on a youthful Jacob (Will Payne) in the sack during the first episode. By the second episode, a shirtless Joseph (Will Tudor) gives us a great look at his gorgeous glutes. Amen to that! The show also includes Debra Winger, Douglas Rankine, Hiam Abbass, Saif Al-Warith, and Darwin Shaw’s nudity! As Benia, we swear the skintastic actor displays his toned T&A during a sexy sex scene. Bible!
