Tom Ford - the celebrity who dresses all your favorite celebrities - made an interesting point in a recentinterview with GQ. OK, it's actually a point he made many a year ago in the same publication, but he finally explained why.
Tom Ford says all men should be penetrated. Considering that he understands consumer experience so well that he's mastered (yes, mastered) fashion, makeup, AND movies, I think we should all listen to his sage words.
I think it would help them understand women, he says to GQ. Its such a vulnerable position to be in, and its such a passive position to be in. And theres such an invasion, in a way, that even if its consensual, its just very personal. And I think theres a psyche that happens because of it that makes you understand and appreciate what women go through their whole life, because its not just sexual, its a complete setup of the way the world works, that one sex has the ability to literally - and is expected to and is wanted to - but also theres an invasion. And I think that thats something most men do not understand at all.
Brilliant. It's brilliant. I'm a woman, and I say it's brilliant. (Mind you, the power of this statement is in the conceptual understanding of another human. Tom Ford is not saying that all men should have their own sexual interest in being penetrated, but that they should at least understand what it's like for women.)
