Treme (2010-2013)

After the end of his series The Wire, creator David Simon came up with another hit in Treme. Set in the Treme neighborhood of post-Katrina New Orleans, a group of musicians and their families struggle with finances, interpersonal relationships, local politics, and life in a neighborhood ravaged by the hurricane. Dark stuff, but beauty and light come in the form of the show's many stunning cast members, such as a shirtless appearance by Ben Nichols, lead singer for the alt-rock country band Lucero.
