Viva (2015)

Viva (2015) is a drama directed by Paddy Breathnach and starring Héctor Medina, Jorge Perugorría, and Luis Alberto García. This Irish/Cuban film follows a hairdresser who does makeup for drag queens in Havana, with the dreams of performing one day himself. When his conservative boxer father returns after a 15-year absence, the man may just learn to be part of a family again while still following his dream. Viva won fourth place for Best Irish Film at the Dublin Film Critics Circle Awards in 2016.
