Wilbur Begår Selvmord (2002)

The Danish romantic comedy Wilbur Begår Selvmord (2002) follows the well-intentioned dude Harbour (Adrian Rawlins) and his suicidal brother Wilbur (Jamie Sives) as they try and deal with the death of their father. Dear ol’ dad left the brothers nothing but a worn down second-hand bookshop in Glasgow, which is stressful enough to send Wilbur back to the mental home after another suicide attempt. It’s there where he meets Horst (Mads Mikkelsen), a cynical psychologist and his sweetheart of a nurse, Moira (Julia Davis). Doc and nurse think that all Wilbur needs is a girlfriend, but that’s easier said than done, especially when Harbour is stealing his potential suitors, specifically Alice (Shirley Henderson), a shy but passionate woman who lives in isolation with her little daughter, Mary (Lisa McKinlay). Eventually the brothers start spending a lot time with Alice and her daughter, and it’s all rainbows and unicorns. Harbour has never been happier in his life, but that could soon change if the deep secret he holds comes to the surface. Thankfully full nudity from Adrian Rawlins also comes to the surface, giving us a teasing look at his entire body! Now that’s a Danish Mr. Man would love to take a bite of!
