Starting in 2017 TNT had viewers getting hard for The Bard with Will,a drama about young William Shakespeare (Laurie Davidson) after his arrival in 1589 London. Apparently, there's a huge gap in the historical record between 1585, when Shakespeare leaves Straftford-upon-Avon as a nobody, and 1592 at which point he's a relatively successful London based writer. This show imagined what happened during that time period. Apparently, Will spent a ton of time hiding the fact that he was a Catholic, while lusting after the owner of the theater (Colm Meaney) where he work's sexy daughter (Olivia DeJonge). Littered with modern day music, from government conspiracies and iambic pentameter rap battles, all the way to a wild scene where longtime rival Christopher Marlowe (Jamie Campbell Bower) tries to kiss him, historians had a field day with the number of things the show made up. But the show more than made up for it with sexiness. Ah, Will, a hunk by any other name would still be as sexy - and there are plenty of Renaissance hotties here. William Houston bangs a lovely brunette against the wall which shows his strong backside and tight tush to the camera. Houston, we have a boner! The beefy Kyle Rees might not be the leader of the resistance, but good luck resisting his body after seeing him tied up shirtless. The theatre truly is gorgeous. Take for instance Mattias Inwood who wears nothing but a thong and glittery paint on stage! What a spectacle! No wonder we see his ass as she has sex with a woman backstage not long after. Another dude we're sure all the Underlings would've wanted to end up under, Edward Hayter ends up doing some naked lounging with Jamie Campbell Bower in true men of the theater style. The only disappointing thing is that Shakespeare doesn't shake his thing! All we get from Laurie is a shot of his abs. Taking the historical record and making a sex filled drama out of it. Shakespeare would be proud! Will? Sure would!
