Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994)

Jim Carrey’s rubber-faced antics were restricted to In Living Color sketches and Sesame Street cameos before he lofted to superstardom on the strength of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994), a blockbuster paean to dumbassery. You probably already know the drill––the Miami Dolphins’ mascot goes missing, and Ace is called in to recover the lovable cetacean. In between hunting for clues, he spends a lot of time chewing scenery with Dan Marino, Don Shula, and Tone Loc. Tom Shadyac’s comedy smash is a perfect mix of slapstick antics and toilet humor, with Jim making a name for himself via a talking buttocks routine. And the sight of Jim’s juff as he scrubs up in the shower is nothing to laugh at!
