After receiving a degree from Durham University and training at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, the Shropshire lad landed parts on film (Love and Other Disasters); on television (At Home with the Braithwaites, The Line of Beauty); and on stage (Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing).
