Antichrist (2009)

Would it be a sin to thank God for Antichrist (2009)? Don’t get us wrong. We’re not Satanists, we’re simply Skin-ists! And this horror flick does the trick when it comes to depicting sex on screen. Amen to that! Per the symbolic vision of filmmaker Lars Von Trier, Antichrist (not to be confused with the 1974 movie The Antichrist) features plenty of flesh! The film follows a couple (played by Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg) battling depression after the death of their toddler son. Throughout the course of their journey, audiences can glance at the couple in all manner of undress. Willem plays a therapist who attempts to cure his wife’s dark depression, but things change when the two wreak havoc on each other. Yet in the darkness there is light in the form of Dafoe’s surprisingly shapely backside. In fact, the film opens up with a hardcore scene showing the abs, ass, sack and shaft on Dafoe’s body double (Horst Baron). While having sex in the bathroom, there’s a penis-in-vag closeup from Horst. But Willem also shows his briefs and butt a couple of times. Later, Mr. Baron bares a prosthetic cock when Charlotte bashes him in the dong with a log. Ouch! At least, she also jerks him off for a bloody money shot. Suffice it to say, the saddened spouse is hellbent on hurting herself and her man. Despite the controversial and candid coverage, the Belgian Syndicate of Cinema Critics gave the film their Grand Prix. We do too!
