At Play in the Fields of the Lord (1991)

An adventure beyond the limits of civilization, faith and passion takes center stage in the exciting drama At Play in the Fields of the Lord (1991). pair of Americans, Lewis Moon (Tom Berenger) and Wolf (Tom Waits), become stranded in a remote section of the Brazilian rainforest when their plane runs out of fuel. When the two dudes stumble upon a local tribe of Natives, they get their passports confiscated and are kept as prisoners by the district commander. On a more successful flight, the naïve Christian  missionaries, Martin (Aidan Quinn) and Hazel (Kathy Bates), arrive to the isolated area to dish out their Jesus-saving sentiments. The Christianity converting couple are welcomed by local missionaries, Leslie (John Lithgow) and Andy (Daryl Hannah), two high profile preachers. Underneath all the good intentions and soul saving, there’s a deeper conspiracy to chase the natives from their land and secure the gold that lies untouched beneath their huts.
