Bad Education (2004)

Years before Brits were laughing at the sitcom Bad Education (2012-2014) and The Bad Education Movie (2015), their grownup neighbors in Spain were going to the cinema to see Bad Education (2004). Also known as La mala educación, the NC-17 flick explores a number of taboo topics between two amigos during three different periods: 1964, 1977 and 1980. Under the pen and direction of acclaimed filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar, the story begins with the reunion of Ignacio Rodriguez (Francisco Boira) and Enrique Goded (Fele Martínez). The guys were friends (and lovers) when they were both students in a Catholic school. Now a filmmaker, Enrique is approached by Ignacio (who is now a transsexual going by the name Ángel Andrade) to make a movie based on a story he wrote about their time in school. Things get complicated when their inappropriately pervy principal Father Manolo (Daniel Giménez Cacho) reappears on the scene. If that’s not challenging enough, the buddies get caught up in a murder mystery! This sexy thriller scored nominations at the Goya Awards for Best Film, Director, Art Direction, and Production Supervision. Speaking of super vision, we loved looking at the skin on Señor Martinez. Forty-nine minutes into the movie, he goes balls out for a skinny-dip in the pool. The skintastic act showcases his abs and ass. The same can be said of Zahara (Gael García Bernal) who, in another scene, seduces Enrique Serrano (Alberto Ferreiro) while dressed in drag. With nude gay dudes, this flick is anything but a drag!
