Review

Director Mel Chionglo’s Burlesk King (1999) is one of a series of films all revolving around the lives of the shredded young men who dance in Manila's gay bars. In this thrilla set in Manila, we meet Harry (Rodel Velayo), the son of an abusive American father (Raymond Bagatsing) and a poor Filipina mother (Elizabeth Oropesa). Harry grew up in Olongapo, home of a big American military base, only for his dad to pimp out both Harry and his mom to anyone willing to pay for a little action. Now fully grown and rightfully pissed off, after fleeing home as a teen, Harry kicks around the country until him and his best friend James (Leonardo Litton) make their way to Manila. Harry's hellbent on revenge but short on cash, so in Manila Harry takes a job dancing at the city’s gay clubs. Becoming a huge fan favorite, he'll eventually run into dear old dad, only to find out that the way he remembers his childhood wasn't exactly how it happened, and that his mom is still very much alive. Most action movies come along with a shot of shirtlessness, but this one has dudes stripping, baring ass, and even unleashing their disco sticks! Rodel ravishes us when he washes his large Manila meat rod and blazes his backside during a memorable sex scene. The dancing king’s scepter will make you bow! On top of Rodel's yodel, we get a great look at Leonardo Litton going full frontal. That'll have you pleasing your kitten! We see him do a wildly sexy dance under a floor covered in fire! There's even a full-frontal dance scene where he takes his toga off in front of a background of erect penises. Apparently, Mr. Man has to get himself to Manila! Unless you're into burly dudes, Burlesk King has it your way!
