Review

Circus (2000) is a twisty English crime thriller centered around con-artist Leo (John Hannah), who owes a ton of money to a dude named Troy (Eddie Izzard). Leo likes to run schemes with his girlfriend Lily (Famke Jannsen), but he keeps her out of it when Leo's cousin Bruno (Brian Conley) hires him to kill his wife Gloria (Amanda Donohue). Only, it ends up Gloria wasn't Bruno's wife, and Bruno set the whole thing up to blackmail Leo out of a bunch of cash. But wait, along comes a guy named Moose (Tommy Lister Jr.) who claims that Gloria is the love of his life and he'll do anything for Leo's help finding her again. Is Lily behind all of this? Who is working with who? And is there any chance Leo can survive the wild situation he's found himself in? People might not remember this one the way they remember all of Guy Ritchie's stuff, but Rob Walker's flick is just as rich in British skin. There is plenty of double crossing and plot twists, but there is also enough nudity here to keep your lower brain very happy. The dandy from The Mummy (1999) who had us all wanting to call him daddy, John Hannah is all buns and balls when he gets naked on a beach for our viewing pleasure. Get the popcorn and peanuts, there's even some penis! Brian Conley flashes his sweet backside while getting a naked massage. Fred Ward shows some sidage during a sex scene, and even Eddie Izzard gets in on the fun with distant shot of his bum on the beach. With all the hot male flesh running around in this Skintasic thriller, it might be hard to concentrate on the complex storyline. . . or. . . it might just be hard in general if you know what we're saying. Mr. Man might not run off and join the circus, but he'll gladly run off with any of the dudes from Circus
