Designated Survivor (2016-2019)

Gather round kiddos, it's time for a Civics lesson from Professor Mr. Man.During a huge event like the State of the Union address, the president picks a cabinet member to serve as the "Designated Survivor" who will become the next president if some catastrophic event takes out tons of people in the presidential line of succession. It's a ceremonial role, really, since what are the odds that a major event is going to take out the president, vice president, speaker of the House, and so on?While it hasn't happened in real life, it happened in 2016 on ABC's Designated Survivor. For three seasons Kiefer Sutherland starred as Tom Kirkland, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. A pretty low level and forgettable political figure, Tom is hanging out at home as the Designated Survivor when a bomb explodes in the Capitol during the State of the Union, killing off pretty much every politician in the USA. That makes him President of the United States, which is a job he's pretty unprepared for. Day one on the job he has to figure out who blew up all our Senators and House Members, how we can replace the entire US Government in a fair and just way, and how to keep the country from believing the conspiracy wackos who are convinced he was in charge of the bombing because he wanted to be president. The consensus on this one seems to be that the first season was compelling, but by the time we'd moved further away from the explosion the show had become a typical political drama. Season three moved to Netflix, which meant cursing and nudity, but by that point in the series most fans had checked out. What a shame, because they missed out on the opportunity to check out Adrian Spencer's ass as he gets out of bed after a night with a cougar. We don't know about housing, but that thing's well developed! Prefer something more "urban?" Eltony Williams is a security guard with a body that's ridiculously hard. We see his abs as he spends some time in bed with Benjamin Charles Watson. If you want to go back after going black, there's a scene where Anthony Edwards and Tim Campbell spend some time together in towels, trying to relax in the sauna. There's also some post-sex abs and pecs from Adan Canto, who we can't get enough of! Careful if you have a heart condition. You might not survive all the sexy stuff in Designated Survivor.
