Far and Away (1992)

Joseph Donnelly (Tom Cruise) isn’t enjoying the luck of the Irish early on in the Ron Howard flick Far and Away (1992). He's stuck on a farm neither he nor any member of his family will ever own, but dreams of owning land one day. Mr. Man just dreams of landing a dude that looks like a young Tom Cruise, but hey, to each his own. After his father’s death and a fight with his landlord (Robert Prosky) that leads to him having to dodge a duel with their finance guy Stephen (Thomas Gibson), Joseph and the landlord's daughter Shannon (Nicole Kidman) split the Emerald Isle and make their way to America! Landing in Boston, they hear that there's free land in Oklahoma for anyone willing to settle there but struggle to find enough money to finance their trip out West. He turns to bareknuckle boxing, she turns to burlesque, and both of them have to flee from her family who come to the USA to find her. In the film's most famous scene, we get a giant reenactment of the famous "Land Run of 1893" where all sorts of Boomers staked claims to their land on a first come first serve basis. Boomer, Sooner, we only care about the scene where Tom's a full on mooner! Yes, a young, buff Tom Cruise is the four-leaf clover of 1800’s skin throughout this movie. He takes a job as a bareknuckle boxer, so there are plenty of skintacular scenes of Cruise battling shirtless for you to do the five-knuckle shuffle to.  But being Irish isn’t the only reason to want to kiss him because there are a couple of shots of his round, tight, chair warmer when he bares ass for his Irish lass. That’s no blarney. Him and Nicole were already a couple at this point, and thanks to a couple of those booty shots it's not hard to see why she was lusting after him so hard! He looks good in all of them, but this is Far and Away the movie Tom looked the hottest in!
