Focus on a Film: Interior. Leather Bar.

If you have some extra cash burning a hole in your pocket, and youre looking for a DVD to add to your stagnate film collection, you should pop on a copy ofInterior. Leather Bar.(2013). Co-directed by James Franco and Travis Matthews, the independent drama is a spectacular reimagining of the forty minutes of deleted sexually explicit footage fromWilliam Friedkins psychological thrillerCruising(1980), which followsAl Pacinoas a police detective sent undercover into the gay SM subculture to track down a serial killer. Friedkins film inspired outrage in the gay community, and he was forced to cut forty minutes of envelope-pushing footage to earn an R rating.

Thanks to the imaginative efforts of Franco and Mathews, the two filmmakers have pieced together and shot an imaginary version of those deleted forty minutes. Ironically enough, only ten to fifteen minutes of their re-imagined footage actually makes the cut in the movie. The rest of their effort seems to focus on the actors concerns for shooting such explicit scenes. Regardless, if youre not too concerned about the plot and just want some male nudity and sex, Interior. Leather is for you.

Unfortunately, Franco keeps his clothes on in the film, but A.J. Goodrich, Brenden Gregory and Brad Roberge are sure not shy, and they heat up the film with enough flesh and fornication to fulfill your carnal needs.
