James Dean (2001)

Made for basic cable, James Dean (2001) dwells on Dean’s (James Franco) psychotic, whiny behavior. At the end, his dad says that the reason he never allowed himself to love Dean is because he's not really his dad, but that he really does love him and is proud of him. Dean accepts this, goes back to the set a changed man, ready to work, only to die immediately thereafter. C’mon Dad, let’s hug it out.

James Franco skinsationally channels Dean in both body and spirit.  The brooding, beautiful Franco lets it all hang out in a beach scene.  Dean is arguing with his girlfriend who gets in a car and leaves.  As he’s yelling at her, he tosses aside the blanket he’s wrapped in unveiling a cut, muscular body.  The shot is from a distance, but Franco’s fantastic flanks are clearly visible and well on their way to becoming a legends in their own right.
