Review

What are the chances that Mr. Man won’t get aroused when seeing handsome young hunks flash their flesh on camera? We guess Less Than Zero (1987). Luckily for us, Marek Kanievska’s R-rated pic delivers its fair share of skin thanks to the youthful beauty of rising stars from the Brat Pack generation. The college drama follows a strait-laced freshman named Clay Easton (Andrew McCarthy) and his former high school girlfriend Blair (Jami Gertz). She’s now a coke-head model who’s shacking up with Clay’s buddy Julian Wells (Robert Downey Jr.). In addition to being a bad friend, Julian has become a drug addict and a thief. If that’s not sad enough, he’s homelessness and owes $50,000 to his dealer (James Spader). The story is all very decadent despite the fact that it doesn’t have much in common with the Bret Easton Ellis book. Of course, the 1985 novel can’t provide the thrill of seeing Mr. McCarthy drop his drawers while talking on the phone. You could say he dials up the cheekiness since we can see his rump. Too bad he doesn’t reveal his receiver! Not to be outdone, a naked RDJ sits on the edge of a bed as his character gets head from some nude dude (John Yurasek). When they are interrupted, Mr. Yurasek stands up, showing off his Yurassets. In other words, he treats us to a view of his bare back and butt. Meanwhile, after glancing at Downey’s derrière, you may also see an Iron Man in your jeans!
