Masters of Sex (2013-2016)

Masters of Sex is a Showtime series with sex in the title. Enough said! We're there! No, we should probably mention that this series kicked off in 2013 and lasted four seasons as it adapted author Thomas Maier's nonfiction book of the same name. Based on the true story of Dr. William Masters (Michael Sheen) and his research partner Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan), the show followed nearly twenty years' worth of research into doing the deed. From the late 1950's to the early 1970's, Masters and Johnson (oh, come on!) studied sex at Washington University in St. Louis. Initially a fertility doctor, Masters found that a whole lot of the issues his clients are having took place in the bedroom, not in the womb. Since it was the 1950's, it was a bit tough to find people willing to let him poke, prod, and watch them give the rod, especially because he's a bit strange. Luckily, his single mother research assistant Virginia has a way with words and becomes key to finding him people to study. But along with the sexism, racism, homophobia and all sorts of other issues of the time that tainted his studies, the team has to prove their field of research is a legitimate discipline or face being disciplined by the higher ups. Try not to chuckle at the stuff people considered kinky, weird or downright "deviant" back in the day, especially the stuff about being gay. Buy if you're looking to see what the iconic human sexuality research team figured out, we get a ton of men and women getting pounded out! There’s plenty of hard research to go over, what with Nicholas D'Agosto and Teddy Sears baring butt in the very first episode. The neverending smorgasbord of man meat continues with everything from Teddy Sears flashing ass in bed with a lucky lady covered in electrodes, to Michael Sheen showing his buns in bed with his wife. Studying sex all day, having sex all night! What a life! Rich Sommer shows his bummer getting kinky with a girl's feet, while David Walton showed his booty doing a girl in a van! What a man! For funny stuff there's Michael McColl in the buff at a nudist colony, while Brian Linsley pounds out a hefty lady he's struggling to handle behind a two-way mirror. Later, Danny Jacobs is putting in the work in the same room, but Jeremy Strong is too strong willed to take his eyes off the notepad! Good boy, Kendall Roy! We could go on and on but think it's best for you to do your own research on this one! With action like that afoot, you’ll need to be doing some Mastering of your own!
